The Friends. A Story about friendship and sharing.

 

I chose to write a story to fulfill the 1st grade literature UEN standard.

I would use this in the classroom to help students understand how detail describe characters, settings, and events. We would read the story together and on each page talk about how the pictures help us to know what is going on in the story. This book teaches about literature but it also teaches how to be a good friend, something that is good for all children to learn.

Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters, setting, or events.


Standard 5: Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)


Standard 7: Use telecommunications and on-line resources (e.g., email, online discussions, web environments) to participate in collaborative problem-solving activities to develop solutions or products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (4, 5)
